If you bet on NFL betting play, Week 5 was a work of art and a masterpiece so rare, it included a Sunday that didn’t feature a St. Louis loss. Oh that’s right, they had a bye week, DOH! Seriously folks, the Rams are a mess and with Washington at 4-1 SU waiting in the nation’s capital as this week’s hosts, it may get worse. Or can it? Yes.
The Washington Redskins invaded Philly in Week 5 as 6.5-point underdogs and shot down Donovan McNabb and the Eagles to get a 23-17 win, improving their ATS record to 4-1 as the NFL’s second most profitable team tied with Tampa Bay (2-3 SU) on the money made list at 4-1 ATS.
In Sunday’s win, Clinton Portis ran for 145 yards and one touchdown against the league’s best run defense. The Eagles had allowed just 53.8 per game rushing. Washington’s offense hasn’t committed a turnover all season and they’re making a lot of noise in the NFC East under new coach Jim Zorn. And the noise level is about to turn deafening with Washington’s next three opponents being St. Louis, Cleveland and Detroit, who’s a combined 1-11 SU and 2-10 ATS.
