Houston Texans defeated by Jacksonville Jaguars

On the game’s opening drive, the Jaguars scored on a 41-yard touchdown run by backup fullback Montell Owens. came after a 12-play, 56-yard scoring drive that started after Jacoby Jones returned a punt 17 yards to the Houston 40. The Texans got first downs on the drive on a 12-yard screen pass to Slaton, a career-long 17-yard carry by running back Chris Taylor and a 16-yard reception by Daniels.On Houston’s first touchdown drive, Schaub completed passes for first downs to tight end Owen Daniels (13 yards), Walter (nine yards) and wide receiver Andre Johnson (13 yards) before his scoring toss to Slaton.
With 19 seconds remaining in the first half, Scobee made a 48-yard field goal to tie the game 10-10. Jacksonville was forced to kick when safety C.C. Brown broke up a pass intended for tight end Marcedes Lewis on third-and-seven.
After Garrard’s 16-yard touchdown pass to Matt Jones on the opening drive of the second half, the Texans tied the game 17-17 thanks to an 11-play series ending with Walter’s five-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone.
Injury report: Houston Texans safety C.C. Brown was taken to a local hospital for X-Rays of his right arm, which he broke in the second half. He’ll have surgery on Monday, according to coach Gary Kubiak.
Linebacker DeMeco Ryans tweaked his ankle in the second quarter but missed only two plays before returning to the game. Jaguars cornerback Rashean Mathis suffered a bruised shin in the first half but was expected to return.
