Kentucky’s governor, Steve Beshear, tries to seize the online gambling activity developed by many online sportsbooks. A Franklin County Circuit judge in the state of Kentucky has issued an order giving the Commonwealth of Kentucky permission to seize control of some 141 “illegal” online gambling websites.
Kentucky is the only state taken action on this particular situation. In addition, Kentucky is well known to have its own lottery and horses gambling activity (The Kentucky Derby, for example).
There are many online gamblers posting that to restrict the online gambling activity developed by their favorite sportsbooks is not more than a “protectionism” and “monopoly” policy, developed by Kentucky’s jurisdiction.
